7th Annual Houston Dragon Boat Festival Saturday, May 5, 2007
WHO:
The Texas Dragon Boat Association (TDBA) presents the 7th Annual Houston Dragon Boat Festival in collaboration with Buffalo Bayou Partnership. Spectators and participants of this free public event celebrate Asian culture as they enjoy diverse food, music and cultural performances.
WHAT:
Each May thousands of festival goers line the banks of Buffalo Bayou for this exciting sports competition. The Houston Dragon Boat Festival features corporate, community, youth and cancer survivor teams all competing for the Dragon Cup. Each dragon boat team consists of 20 paddlers, a drummer and a steersman.

Buffalo Bayou at Allen’s Landing in Downtown (off Commerce between Main and Fannin)

The Texas Dragon Boat Association is a 501(c)(3) Texas non-profit corporation whose mission is to promote the tradition of dragon boating, increase awareness of Asian and Asian-American culture, and enhance cross-cultural understanding. TDBA organizes the Houston Dragon Boat Festival in downtown Houston each May and the Gulf Coast International Dragon Boat Regatta in Bay Area Houston each October.

The American Dragon Boat Association is a volunteer organization dedicated to the promotion of friendship, fun, and education between teams and communities. Its mission is to promote cultural understanding on a worldwide basis and educate the public to the benefits of working together through the sport of dragon boat racing.
