This event is free and fun for spectators of all ages

The Texas Dragon Boat Association (TDBA) is pleased to announce this year’s Festival Co-Chairs: the Honorable Ed Emmett, Harris County Judge, and Mr. Andrew Huang, President of Houston Downtown Alliance. The 2009 Houston Dragon Boat Festival will be held on May 2, 2009 at Allen’s Landing in downtown Houston from 8:30AM to 4:30PM. “The Dragon Boat Festival is exactly the kind of unique event that makes Harris County such a great place to live,” said Judge Emmett. “It’s colorful, it’s competitive, and it’s a good excuse to get outside on a beautiful spring day to enjoy great food and have some fun.”

The 9th annual Houston Dragon Boat Festival offers a full day of diverse cultural performances, pan-Asian and festival cuisine, arts and crafts, Kids’ Zone, and of course, exciting dragon boating competition with teams from leading corporations and community organizations in downtown and throughout Harris County.

“The Houston Dragon Boat Festival is a wonderful community event that celebrates Houston’s diversity and serves as a great teambuilding event for many area companies and organizations,” said Mr. Huang. “I am very pleased to be involved with the Texas Dragon Boat Association and look forward to a great event!”
