The Texas Dragon Boat Association invites you to take part in a fun, growing, and dynamic new organization. Come be a part and participate in one of the following areas:

• May Festival/October Regatta Organizing and Planning

Volunteers are the key to our success as a safe and fun event that continues to attract people year after year. Volunteering activities cover both land and water duties. Below is a listing of tasks where we will need assistance:

• Boat Helpers - Holding boats on docks and helping with loading and unloading of crews
• Check-In - Helping to check-in teams for the race and confirm each crew member has proper waivers signed and knows the logistics for the day
• Dock Helpers - Facilitating the loading and unloading of boats ushering crews safely onto docks and off of docks, checking for proper equipment and wristbands
• Greeters - Pass out programs amongst the crowd and letting people know of current day schedule and activities. Greeters will be actively walking through the crowds
• Information Booth - Handing out programs and answering questions at a central location.
• Marshalling - Getting teams in order and checking qualifications for upcoming races on land, prior to teams getting on docks.
• Parking/Unloading/Loading - Marking sure that the pick-up and drop-off area is clear for loading and unloading. Duties only required in the morning and afternoon.
• Performance Area - Making sure that the performers, emcee's, and DJ are in place at the right times and have everything they need (e.g., water, announcements)
• Snack/Beverage Set-Up - Setting up snacks and the drink tent
• Snack/Beverage Hand-out - Handing out snacks and drinks to paddlers and volunteers
• Games - Helping to staff the inflatable games
• Time Runners - In charge of running the scores between the finish line and the score board, giving the scores to the scorekeeper and announcer.
• Boat Transportation - Paddling the boats from the loading point up to the festival site on the morning of the festival
• Trash Pick-Up - Keeping the grounds clean

Fill out the Online Volunteer Form and submit it to our Volunteer Coordinator. We will then be in touch with you to get you started in Houston 's newest exciting sport.
